The Mummy Tag!

After watching lots of videos on 'The Mummy/Mommy Tag' on YouTube, I thought it would be fun to do a written version of this on here. I then stumbled across the tag again on Bump to Baby, by Alex, who tagged everyone who hasn't done it yet, so here it is! Hopefully you will get to know Freddie (aka 'Little One') and I a little better.

1. Are you a Stay at Home Mum or a Working Mum?
Freddie is 8 months old so I am still on maternity leave, but will be returning to work as a primary school teacher at the start of June.

2. Would you have it any other way?
I love spending so much time with Freddie but I do need to go back to work to earn a salary! He will really enjoy his two days at nursery as he is such a sociable little chap. He will also be having a day with grandparents and a special daddy day once a week initially.

3. Do you co-sleep?
No. I'm too much of a wriggly worm! Freddie slept in our room in a Moses basket until he was about 3 months old and then he got too big for that so he went into his big cot in our room until he was 6 months. We then transferred his cot into his own nursery.

4. What is your one must-have item for your baby?
His Gro-Egg thermometer in his nursery- it seems difficult to regulate the temperature in our house as it's an old building but the Gro-Egg light-up design allows us to quickly look in the nursery to at least make sure that his room is at a temperature that is safe for him to sleep in.

5. How many children do you plan on having?
Hmm, well immediately after I'd given birth I said I wasn't going to have any more as I couldn't cope with the pain level again (!!), but now I've totally decided it's worth all the pain and I'd like Freddie to have siblings to grow up with... I'm one of 4 and my husband is one of 2 so maybe we could meet in the middle and have 3?!

6. Date night? How many nights per month?
Ah, we're not doing so well with this one! I think we have been organised enough to have the grand total of TWO date nights since Freddie was born!!... Oh dear!

7. Your child's favourite show?
Definitely Peppa Pig!! But he gets mega excited when the Friends title music comes on the TV (I watched it constantly when I was pregnant- maybe he recognises the tune?).

8. Name one thing you bought before you had your baby and never ended up using.
Bath products- we bought some and we were given a lot. Unfortunately we couldn't use them as they irritated his skin.

9. Your child's favourite food?
Petit Filous. He waves his arms around when he sees it!

10. How many cars does your family have?
We have two cars.

11. Weight gain before pregnancy, during and after and now?
Hmm, I have no idea what I weighed before I was pregnant but I remember at my first midwife appointment I was 56kg (8 st 11lb). I think at 42 weeks pregnant, I was in the 11 stone region (69kg), and now I'm roughly 10 st 3lb (64kg) but I don't really monitor my weight.

12. Dream holiday with your kids?
I am really looking forward to taking Freddie to the good old British seaside to build sandcastles when he's big enough to do that, but in the future I'd love to take him to Florida to visit the water parks and theme parks!

13. Dream holiday without your kids?
I'd like to say somewhere like the Maldives but I'm not keen on swimming in the sea, so maybe somewhere in Italy as that's where we went on honeymoon.

14. How has your life changed since your baby has been born?
I am so much more organised now than I used to be (every time I leave the house I go through a huge mental checklist of all the things he'll need and I rarely forget things now). I don't have much 'me' time and I usually look in a complete state but there's bigger fish to fry right now.

15. Finish the sentence: "It makes my heart melt to see..."
Freddie sneezing- it's adorable <3

16. Where do you shop for your kids?
Mothercare, Asda Living, Tesco, Next, Gap Outlet, along with some smaller independent shops.

17. Favourite makeup and skincare products?
Naked Palette for eyeshadow, Bourjois Healthy Mix foundation and Collection concealer! I've wasted so much money on mascaras recently, none of which I'm happy with! Recommendations please!

18. Huggies or Pampers?
Nappies- Pampers
Wipes- Huggies
Swim nappies- Huggies

19. Have you always wanted kids?
Yes, once I had met my husband.

20. Best part about being a mummy?
Watching Freddie laugh and smile, seeing his delight when he finally reaches one of his milestones that he's been working towards, and knowing that he is so reliant on us, it's wonderful <3

I had lots of fun doing this tag so I tag anyone that wants to do it. Please link in the comments section below so I can read yours! xx
