The Ordinary Moments #8 'Mr Independent'

As Little One approaches his first birthday, we have noticed that he is becoming increasingly stronger, self confident and more independent. He is changing in so many ways day by day, right before our very eyes. I struggle sometimes to even comprehend that he is the same baby as the tiny little bundle who came into the world nearly a whole year ago.

Within the past two weeks, his personality has really developed, and he seems so much more toddler like. One of his aunties kindly bought him a push along turtle walker as an early birthday present. Initially we thought that he'd be quite a few weeks off being able to use it on his own so we carefully helped him hold on and push it along, holding onto him for support. Well, he wasn't having any of this and decided that he was far too grown up to need any help. He pulled himself up, grabbed onto it and off he went. All by himself! It was amazing watching him be so independent and confident to take those first steps on his own.

I know it's not 'proper' walking, but he will learn in his own time. For now he's happy having mastered his new skill and it has certainly kept him entertained for hours this week!

With his new favourite toy, the push along turtle from Little Tikes. He absolutely loves how quickly he can move about now.
He found a toy buggy at a play centre and decided to take the dolly for a walk.

  1. Aw he looks super proud of his new skill and so he should be! LL has just started walking this week but for months she was cruising round with the help of her baby walker- it was her favourite toy by far! x

    1. He is LOVING his new found skill! He's super proud of himself yeh! I saw your gorgeous post on LL walking on her own- absolutely amazing! I can't wait to see what LO looks like when he can do that too. Don't think it will be for a while yet but he seems happy walking with the help of his turtle friend for now x

  2. Seeing a baby finally stand up and walk (even with a lil help from a turtle or mine with walls) is amazing! Its like they are suddenly not a baby anymore but a child. I think stand up and walking is one of the biggest milestone =) #TheOrdinaryMoments

  3. Oh my goodness, yes I felt so proud and quite amazed. It was surreal as he no longer looked like a little baby but like a little boy tottering about. Thank you for stopping by my blog x
