Throwback Thursday: This time last summer

I was just looking at the date on my computer and realised that tomorrow is 11th July. This was meant to be Little One's due date last summer, and I remember feeling so disappointed when that day came and went and the prospect of being induced had become very real.

I thought today I would 'throw back' to this time last summer. I had already been on maternity leave for a whole month and it was a particularly hot summer. I wouldn't ever complain about warm weather normally, but it wasn't overly comfortable at 40 weeks pregnant.
Going out for our last meal as a 'two'. I got asked on a few occasions if I was carrying twins...
My belly got that big that I couldn't really sit behind the steering wheel of the car safely. I would mooch about the house tidying away and washing and ironing LOTS of gorgeous baby clothes ready for Little One's much awaited arrival. I was very bored during the days and everyone told me to make the most of it and get lots of rest. I ignored this advice as I was too restless to sit and sleep but now if I could turn back the clock I would make more of that time I had to myself!

In the evenings and at weekends, my husband and I would go to a nearby reservoir for a calm evening stroll and sometimes a cheeky ice cream in the hope that the walking would speed things along. It didn't make any difference but the evening walks became the highlight of my days.

I thought after my due date (July 11th) had been and gone, I would be waiting for a few days maximum. Little did I know I'd be meeting my new baby boy two weeks later on July 24th!
At 41 weeks pregnant going for a stroll around the beautiful Ogden Reservoir in West Yorkshire. Well any excuse for an ice cream and sprinkles.

A x
