{Me and Mine} A Family Portrait Project 15: June

As I sit here writing this, I am looking at the calendar and can't quite believe it's July tomorrow. Where exactly is this year going? It feels like as I get older the days and months just seem to pass by even more quickly. I think since I stopped school teaching last year, the months pass by even quicker and it's bizarre because for the first time in about 5 years, we have been able to go away in school term time.

This evening we are spending the first evening in our house in a week, after having arrived back from the airport after a lovely break at my parent's place in rural France. We have returned with lots of lovely memories and the start of a summer tan. We haven't been away on holiday since last September so our little holiday to France has definitely been the highlight of our year so far.

Earlier in the month, I spent an entire weekend away in London for Blogtacular. It was daunting going down by myself and leaving LO and Mr F behind as it's not something I'm used to doing, but it was a fascinating and really exciting experience, and it was lovely to finally meet some of the lovely ladies behind some of my favourite blogs which I've been reading for a while now.

This month we also did a little makeover on our staircase and landing and it's something we have been wanting to do really since we moved in four years ago, but as with anything, it's about finding the time and saving up the pennies to do little renovations to make your house your home. We have so far done the decorating and had carpets fitted, so I think this month will be about the fun little finishing touches. I hope to do a little blog post all about it soon.

So all in all, it's been a fairly busy month for us. July shows no signs of slowing down either as we pretty much have something on every weekend, plus visits from my mum and middle sister to look forward to. It's also our 5th wedding anniversary this Friday and then the absolute highlight of the month will be Little One's 2nd birthday at the end of July.

Here are our family photos for June. My little sister took these on our recent holiday to France and I really love them. We decided to take a drive around the local area around where my mum lives on our last full day there, and we stumbled upon a gorgeous place called Lac de Saint Pardoux. It's a stunning lake with a sandy beach, and so I thought what a perfect place to take some family photos.

    1. Thank you so much Jenny! What a lovely thing to say :) He did seem to be having an abolsolute blast- he's a real water baby and is in his element when swimming or near water. I also love capturing these moments through me and mine. x

    1. It was a really gorgeous location- I was so happy to just stumble upon it! And I also think sometimes the best days are those ones where you don't have plans but just find somewhere to go and it just works. Can highly recommend Lac De St Pardoux if you're ever in France! x

    1. Haha thank you Kelly, you're right, there were lots of giggles. And swinging him in the air is just about the only way we can guarantee a smile in photos these days! x
