{The Ordinary Moments 15} #33 'Mini Me'

If there's something which people say to us more than anything else, it's how much Little One looks like Mr F. I don't always see it myself in how they look; sure, he has some very similar features but physically, he is very much across between the two of us, with little features which he has inherited from each side of the family. His cute and very distinctive hairline with a cow-lick swirl in the middle comes from Mr F, but the colour and soft, feathery texture is just how mine was as a toddler. The almond shape of his beautiful smiley eyes comes from both sides, but the sea green colour he has definitely inherited from his mama.

Only this morning, we were talking about his chubby cherub cheeks, and there's no doubt that they have come from me, and his little cherry lips which he turns into the ultimate pout when he's in a grump comes from his daddy. It still amazes me every day how we have made this gorgeous little man, and how he is so much like us, yet his own little person at the same time.

But there are other ways in which he really is a mini version of Mr F. Luckily he has inherited his easy going personality, and happy soul. Mr F doesn't do moody or cross, so when LO is in a bit of a grump he's a bit more like me. On the whole, LO sounds like me, with some family asking whether it's me or LO talking on the phone! But He LO has started to copy a few words that Mr F says, and is very much his mini me with some words coming out in a little Bradford accent.

With number 2 on the way, we are both very mindful of the fact that LO is going to have to go from having our totally undivided attention for over two years, to sharing us with his new sibling. We really want to spend as much quality time together as a three over the next few months, going on days out together, weekends away and a holiday abroad in September. This weekend we went to see family over in Liverpool, and spent the day having a picnic and running about on the beach. It was lovely to sit back and watch my twinnies playing and running about together, Mr F and his mini me. It makes me feel teary when I watch them together, they really are the best of friends and I can't wait for our next little mini me to be here to join in our little club.

It's a....????? Gender reveal coming soon ;)

    1. Aw thank you. I'm sure there will be some similarities, even if its more personality wise. LO has definitely inherited more of my personality traits xx

  3. Aw this is so lovely, its funny how they are very much a mixture of both parents isn't it, whether it's in looks or personality. It's nice that there will soon be another little person to join your club. You won't be able to imagine it yet but I promise it's the best thing ever. xx

    1. Thank you lovely; It shouldn't be strange as it's nature, but it really can be so strange to stare into your child's eyes and see part of yourself in their eyes looking back at you. I had a moment like this today when he was in his carseat, I looked into his eyes and it was like I was looking into the soul of my two year old self. I can't wait for little baby boy to join the club Katie- I'm sure you're right though- I bet it's amazing to have two little people around xx
