I am finally catching up with myself with my weekly bump updates. I am cheating a little as I didn't get around to getting a photo when I was 17 weeks (I am totally using the excuse that we have moved our living room furniture around and there is now a sofa where I normally take bump photos- Mr F wasn't here so I couldn't move it myself...)
As I write this, I am actually 19 weeks + 1, but today I am sharing my 18 week update. I really am finding it is going by so quickly, much more so than when I was expecting Little One. In fact, everything feels different in general. Only this morning, Mr F and I were saying how we find we don't even have time to think about me being pregnant as we are looking after a toddler now too. And while of course we are hugely excited, it's a totally different feeling of excitement. There's less anticipation as we know sort of what to expect this time. We won't really need to buy much, as we already have nursery furniture, a moses basket. Really, we will just need a new cot mattress obviously and new clothes if it's a girl. I say this, and in reality we will probably not be able to resist buying lots of cute new things, but for the most part, we are pretty well set up.
I think I am going to have to invest in a few new staple items for my wardrobe too. I am going to be at my biggest in the autumn/winter months this time, and already my belly is getting quite big. Any excuse to do a bit of online shopping... I also need to buy some holiday clothes as I'll be 24 weeks by the time we go away at the start of September.
How far along? 18 weeks
Total weight gain: 7 lbs (Now 8 stone 11oz)
Maternity clothes? Not yet, but my tops keep riding up so I need to invest in a few key pieces to carry me through summer into autumn.
Stretch marks? No new ones yet and I am still terrible at remembering to moisturise. I'm so tired at the end of the day I'd rather just get into bed and sleep rather than slather on cream
Sleep: More naps again but tossing and turning at night as it's quite warm. Apparently from 18 weeks you're meant to sleep on side not your back, which I had totally forgotten.
Best moment this week: Feeling the first flutterings. Still very much an internal feeling, you couldn't feel it through my skin, but it was definitely movement.
Miss anything? I could really drink a summery cocktail right now if I'm honest
Food cravings: Crisps and salted peanuts. There was a bag of KP nuts open and I just couldn't leave it alone.
Anything making you queasy or sick? No, thank goodness! But I do feel car sick if I'm the passenger in the car.
Gender: We have had a sweepstake in our family to guess gender, weight, DoB and time of birth. Girl came our as most popular... We shall see mid August!
Labour signs: No!
Symptoms: Super itchy skin, horrible ligament pain in my pelvis and sciatica, which I have had since I had LO.
Belly button in or out? Out, I don't like it at all.
Wedding rings on or off: On.
Happy or moody most of the time: Happy but exhausted.
Looking forward to: Our 20 week scan!
