So at the start of week 28 we went on a little weekend away to London to visit my sister and her boyfriend and my brother and sister-in-law. I felt quite worried about the prospect of getting to Leeds on the train with bump, LO and our bags and then down to Stevenage where we were meeting Mr F. But there were some really lovely fellow passengers who saw pregnant lady, pram and toddler and were more than happy to help. It really made my day to see so many helpful people about!
We stayed at a hotel in Slough which was really lovely and comfy and I slept pretty well considering I never normally sleep well in hotel beds at the best of times, let alone with a huge baby bump! We travelled into London by car which meant I could sit and enjoy the journey without getting exhausted. I was surprised at how much walking around I managed to do without getting utterly exhausted. We can't wait to go back to London again with LO (who absolutely loved it) and baby in a pram. It really was so much easier than I thought it would be.
Since being home and back to our normal routine however, I have felt pretty awful all week- in fact, on one or two days it's been the worst I've felt this whole pregnancy. We have had quite a few late nights as we have been out for two meals with family and I'm now at the stage where big restaurant meals are too much for me. Huge portions of rich food, combined with being out late made me feel chronic on two days this week with horrendous heartburn and indigestion at the same time. It's a feeling I'd really quite like to avoid again, but I fear this heartburn is just going to get worse. I had it really bad with LO, so I just need to watch what and when I eat so that I can manage it as best I can, oh and to make sure I never run short of Gaviscon!
Baby boy has clearly had a growth spurt this week too, which I think has contributed to the heartburn and indigestion as everything feels so squashed. My skin has really been hurting as it feels so so stretched now. I am still terrible at remembering to put moisturiser on so my poor skin has really suffered, and I'm truly regretting neglecting it now. Baby is like clockwork with his movements- really strong kicks when I'm driving and also from about 9pm, he starts having a little boogie- really strong kicks which we can see through my clothes!
How far along? 28 weeks + 3
Weight: 9st 10lb
Maternity clothes? I really need to crack on and buy some maternity jeans and trousers now as my jeans are sitting so low and get so uncomfy in the evenings. I just find them so pricey for the short amount of time I'll wear them!
Stretch marks? Yes *sad face* mostly above my belly button, my skin looks a mess :(
Sleep: I am sleeping, but it's really broken sleep and I still toss and turn all night.
Best moment this week: Being down in London and my brother and his wife meeting bump for first time.
Miss anything? My trousers fitting
Food cravings: Guinness!! My husband had a pint while we were away and I had to have one tiny taste as I couldn't resist it. I haven't stopped thinking about it all week.
Anything making you queasy or sick? Yes- big portions of rich food when we are eating out. Particularly lasagne.
Labour signs: I hope not- I had some horrible cramps and stitch this week when I was walking and felt a bit panicky.
Symptoms: A bit of cramping and stitch when walking, and my skin hurts
Belly button in or out? Out, but less so now my skin is stretching more
Wedding rings on or off: On.
Happy or moody most of the time: Miserable most of this week with no energy and feeling ill
Looking forward to: Nothing in particular right now, although I know I'm not looking forward to my Anti-D treatment this week :(
