It all feels very real and close now- I can't believe I'm now into my 30th week and writing my 29 week bump update. It's all going by so quickly, but I imagine the final 10 will probably start to drag. Having said that, I love this time of year and we have lots coming up and a few things to look forward to- I love Halloween and we are already getting in the Halloween spirit with LO. I also have my 30th birthday at the start of November, with a surprise weekend away somewhere too. My mum is also temporarily moving back to the UK to be closer to us all so she'll be here when baby arrives which I'm so excited about.
With the dark, cold evenings, it does mean we tend to stay inside more, but I'm more than happy to spend the next 10 weeks or so snuggled up inside in the evenings. The autumn TV schedule is always pretty good too and I'm excited that the new series of The Apprentice will take us all the way up to my due date, so I'm sure that'll make time pass quickly too. Having said all this, I really want to make the most of this time too- I want to enjoy lots of quality time with LO, and take him to do lots of lovely things.
The main thing this week though was going to hospital to have my Anti-D prophylaxis treatment. This is something you have to have done if like me, you have a rhesus negative blood type. Mine is O rhesus negative which is quite rare, and so I am given medication called anti-D immunoglobulin to prevent me getting Rhesus disease or baby getting haemolytic disease. Even though I had the treatment with LO, I had forgotten about the needles and the blood tests, but all was fine.
I haven't been feeling great over the past week, and I talked a bit about it in my ordinary moments post earlier this week. The start of week 29 wasn't great and actually I felt the worst I have the entire pregnancy. I think meals out are a thing of the past for now- I find the food too rich and the portions too big, and end up feeling full and with chronic heartburn and indigestion. I know there are much worse things to experience but if it's something I can try and control, then I'd like to be able to. My tummy has been aching a lot too, and my skin feels itchy and so stretched now. I really don't see how I'll make it to 40 weeks, but the body is an amazing thing and I'm sure it will find a way.
How far along? 29 weeks + 4 days
Weight: 10 stone (have put on about 6lbs in one week!)
Maternity clothes? I have bought a pair of black skinny jeans from Mothercare. I find the clothes don't fit that well but at least they stock maternity wear in store unlike most other places!
Stretch marks? Yes- my tummy is really suffering this week
Sleep: I've slept really well all week but I do have odd dreams
Best moment this week: Hearing baby's heartbeat at my 28 week check at hospital
Miss anything? Most of my wardrobe!
Food cravings: I have been prone to the odd sweetie here and there this week
Anything making you queasy or sick? Not sick, but large portions of food and fruit give me heartburn
Labour signs: I'm not sure if it's Braxton Hicks or just my muscles aching, but my tummy has felt quite sore
Symptoms: Heartburn, stretch marks, aching back and top of my tummy aching
Belly button in or out? Out, but less so now my skin is stretching more
Wedding rings on or off: On.
