Autumn Craft, 5 Ingredients and Getting Sporty {#Little Loves}

Happy Friday! It's the end of yet another week and I'm really finding the days are just flying past now. I am finding I have a never ending to-do list and no time to do anything. I often get asked what I do in the day, and in all honestly, I find the school day just flies by, and 3pm arrives just like that. I have made a vow to get more organised and to plan out my days better. We seem to have got stuck in a rut with planning our lives, and it's my mission to make myself a few goals, get better at planning our week and get organised. I've mentioned recently as well that I'm looking to steer my blog in a new direction and I am raring to go with my plans for that too. I've had a few people ask me why and what direction I want to go in. I think a lot of it stems from LO starting school. I want the focus to be less on him and more on lifestyle, travel and interiors I guess, as these are all passions of mine.
We have lots of plans with the house (mostly decor and finishing rooms we haven't completed decor wise) so you can expect more in the way of interiors on here, as well as other more lifestyle oriented things. I know it's been a little quiet over here for a few months and I am hoping that will change. I am vowing to be more organised so let's hope I can stick to it! Here's what I've been loving lately...

Read
When I'm on my Mac doing blog work I do get very sidetracked with reading other people's blogs, and this week is no exception. I do find I have a small set of blogs which I will return to week on week to read, and this week I loved reading all about how Jess from Mummy Of Boy Girl Twins spends her days when she's working from home. I have Thursdays as my day to catch up on everything whilst trying to get as much blog work done as I can. I find it incredibly hard to manage my time though and it is something I need to get better at. I found  it really interesting to read about how she manages her time with life, house stuff, blog and social media work. If you haven't read Jess's blog, do hope over and have a read. It's one of my go-to blogs each week.

Watched
I am finding I have less and less time at the moment to sit and watch TV in the evenings, but lately I have really been enjoying Jamie Oliver's 5 Ingredients- Quick and Easy Food. There are some really great recipes which are simple to cook and taste great, and the best bit is that they all only use 5 ingredients, so no faffing around. We have tried a couple of the recipes and they've been really easy and so tasty, including these quick Asian salmon fishcakes.

Made
With LO at school, I have more time to spend with just Little L, and up to now, I've never really done much in the way of crafts or painting with him, mostly because he's been more interested in eating it than anything else. But if your little ones are anything like mine, I'm sure you have had those times when you have every intention of a fun craft morning, get the paints out, they use them for all of 5 minutes and then it takes half a day to clean up the mess. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for children exploring and the odd bit of messy play but sometimes it's nice just to be spontaneous and have an activity which is mess free, easy to set up and tidy away and still fun. Enter Chubbie Paint Sticks. They're absolutely fantastic. They're paint dabbers (a bit like a bingo pen) and really fun to use. I bought mine from Amazon but I know Baker Ross do a set too. I can highly recommend them. We'll be doing lots of Autumn themed crafts with ours.

Wore
Activewear! I've mentioned recently on my blog about how I'm on a mini fitness mission. Nothing drastic, just trying to get a bit more active and making more time for me. I go out running some evenings and I've also started swimming too which although I'm not a strong swimmer, I do enjoy it and having some me time does me the world of good. I've been wearing more active wear recently and I find it's great to throw on in the morning for the school run too. I definitely find that wearing nice sportswear makes me feel more inclined to do exercise! Anyone else find that too? I love these new grey jogger leggings which were from George at Asda (they're so comfy) and my Adidas black and pink ones too, which I pair with a hoodie and my Adidas trainers.

Heard
I have been loving listening to music in the car again lately. One song which I keep coming back to is one of my all time favourites- it is absolutely beautiful and always makes me cry every time I listen to it. It's Lullabye (Goodnight my angel) by Billy Joel. I have vouched to learn to play it on the piano one day too.

And Lastly...
Tomorrow I am off to London for the weekend for Britmums Live! I am staying Friday night to Sunday and although I am for some reason feeling really anxious about going, I am also really looking forward to it too. I feel like I have lost my way with blogging lately and I am looking to steer my blog in a different direction. I think attending Britmums and meeting up with some of my favourite bloggers might give me back my blogging mojo again, and I'm hoping it will inspire me to have a much needed re-boot. If you spot me do come over and say hello!

  3. I'm excited to see some interiors posts as we're currently in the middle of a huge home renovation. I'm worried that when we actually get to the decorating part we wont be able to make any decisions! x #LittleLoves

  4. Hope you had fun at Britmums and found some inspiration there. Those paint pen things are so tempting - my 5 year old is like having a toddler around when it comes to messy play, so these are right up my street!

    1. Thank you Morgana, I came away feeling rearing to go with my blog, even though the sessions were actually pitched a little low and the sessions all overlapped a little. I found it hard to know which ones to go to to learn the most. I remember your blog changing direction and your name change too- you mad it look seamless! xx
