Our Picture Ledges and an Autumnal Table Display {# LittleLoves}

And just like that we are in the final month of the year! November felt like a long month but overall the year seems to have flown by. Scrolling through social media, it seems as though more and more people start with Christmas earlier and earlier, but for me, I can't even begin to think about Christmas until we are in the second week of December, let alone in November! That being said, I have vouched this year to try and be a little more organised with Christmas shopping. I really can't face being disorganised about it this year, and the thought of traipsing around Lincoln searching for presents fills me with dread! I have been organised with the boy's presents and have managed to find some nice bits and pieces. I may do a gift inspiration post if anyone fancies seeing any of my ideas for a nearly 2 year old and a 4 year old? We don't tend to go over the top at all, and with Little L having his 2nd birthday 10 days after Christmas, I'll probably just stagger his presents. Like last year, I also want to do a festive bucket list of experiences and activities to do with them through advent. I'm sure I'll find plenty of inspiration on other blogs, there's always so many fun and unique ideas out there.

And so for now, here's what I've been loving in November...

Read
I normally like to share a couple of blog posts I've read lately, but this week I wanted to share some books which Little L has been really enjoying. He initially didn't show as much interest in books as his brother did at a similar age, but recently has got really into them and I think it's really helped with his speech too. We got his room decorated in the summer and put these picture ledges up. It creates a lovely bright feature in his room and I regularly switch up the books. He has a tendency to rip normal paper back books so we just fill it mostly with board books. He loves going up and picking his own and sitting on the chair to read them. I'd say Fox's Socks, The Very Hungry Caterpillar and Goodnight Moon are all perfect bedtime books for a 22 month old, and for helping with developing speech. I've loved listening to him learn the order of the fruits in The Very Hungry Caterpillar.

Heard
One of my favourite things to do with the boys at the moment is to play songs off my iPhone in the kitchen when we eat breakfast. We absolutely love dancing around the kitchen together and while some of the songs drive me insane, we really do have so much fun and it does wonders for lifting your mood in this cold weather. One of my favourites is Ooh La La by Kotomi and I've also been loving Dusk till Dawn by Zayn ft Sia.

Watched
I'm really trying to get more into better meal planning and budgeting for food each week. One of my favourite shows is Eat Well for Less- it really makes you think about how you manage your own food shopping as well as giving you some great ideas for family meals and ways to cut costs on the food bills.

Wore
I'm living in jeans and jumpers at the moment, and lately I'm loving my Topshop Sidney jeans which are just so comfy, and a nice mid denim colour. My most recent purchase is this nvu cable knit jumper with shirt collar and cuff detailing Next which is £36. One thing I'm not without in this cold weather is my Lavender hand creme from Flying Tiger. I get really dry hands in the cold and this is just so lovely- I've tried so many hand creams and this one is one of the best I've tried- it makes my hands feel silky soft and it smells like a spa treatment.

Made
I'm sure over the coming festive weeks we will be doing lots of making and baking with the boys, but as one last nod to Autumn before all things Christmas and winter, we did a quick and easy Autumn craft this week. We went out on a leaf hunt walk around the village to collect fallen leaves- finding as many different types as we could, then came home to create a little table display- they simply covered them in PVA glue and picked different coloured glitter to sprinkle on. Such a quick and easy activity (if you don't mind the mess of glitter) and it makes for a really seasonal and pretty table display too. I think I'll get them to do a Christmas one too with more pinecones and blue and silver glitter and a Christmas candle.
