I created my blog, Oh Little One Sweet in March 2014 when our first son was 8 months old and I was on maternity leave from my job as a primary school teacher. I started it as a sort of online diary to document our his milestones and also to share my reviews of various childcare products which I found useful as a parent. It gradually grew and it has become a place where I love to document not only the big days out, the adventures, holidays and big milestones, but also those ordinary everyday moments too, the ones which might so easily be forgotten in and amongst our busy day to day lives. It's since evolved into more of a family lifestyle blog and I now also write about interiors, travel, kids crafts, reading and other activities and general family life.
Since starting my blog I have become really passionate about photography and I want to capture and record our lives through my photos- whether quick snaps on my iPhone or on my big camera. I have also become really passionate about recording snippets of our lives through video, and love making videos of our holidays, days out and adventures for us to be able to watch back in years to come.
Who we are...
Mummy to two beautiful little boys and wife to Richard. I trained as a musician originally but went onto train as a primary school teacher. I decided to have a break from teaching when Freddie was 1, and haven't looked back since. I now spend my days mostly at home looking after the boys alongside running my blog. We live in West Yorkshire but I was born in Brighton. I have spent my whole life moving around and don't really know where I am truly from. I love taking photos (if you hadn't already guessed), cleaning and I'm addicted to cereal. I'd eat it every meal given the choice.
My passions are taking photos, making videos and just generally living life as a stay at home mummy with my two boys. I am passionate about crafts, baking, finding and making educational games and going on adventures with my family.
Richard (Mr F)...
My better half and my absolute soul mate. We are best of friends and have been together since 2004 and married since July 2010. We met through a shared love of singing and I'm convinced we share a brain as we often have the same thoughts at the same time and regularly finish each other's sentences. He is a national manager for a large German company, and spends much of his time driving around the country to different locations. He's an absolutely amazing daddy and will dive straight into the bedtime routine as soon as he gets in from a long drive back from work. He's so incredibly supportive of my blog and often helps out behind the scenes, especially with taking photos and setting up the camera. He's a lifelong Liverpool fan and loves most sports.
Is our little 3 year old. He was born in July 2013 weighing 7lbs 14oz. He had a difficult arrival into the world as he was born 2 weeks late with pneumonia and spent the first two weeks of his life in the special care baby unit. He quickly recovered though and he's always been tall and strong for his age. He's incredibly cheeky, feisty, strong willed and stubborn but also the most loving and affectionate little boy you could ever wish to meet. He's often very shy with other children, but so well liked by everyone he meets. He's chilled out and cooler than I'll ever be. He's often likened to Prince George and even got into the final of a national Prince George lookalike competition when he was a baby.
He has a really strong sense of style and colourful primary colour clothes have most definitely become his trademark, along with his red sunglasses and yellow hoodie and he never leaves the house without his beloved soft toy cow called Moo Moo. He's obsessed with aeroplanes, trains and helicopters and loves watching Fireman Sam, Curious George and Thomas. He loves nothing more than to play with his wooden train track and to read books, especially if they're by Julia Donaldson.
Is our little ray of sunshine and the youngest member of our family. He was due on New Year's Day 2016 but arrived 4 days late on January 5th 2016 weighing 7lbs 9oz. He had a much simpler arrival into the world, being sent home just a few hours after he was born. He's our little blonde haired blue eyed boy, one who is not yet a fan of sleeping. He has an infectious laugh and the cheekiest of smiles. He absolutely idolises his older brother and you can already tell he's just longing to be able to run around and play with him. He's also incredibly affectionate but so different in so many ways to his brother. He's powered by milk and is really only comforted by being fed by me. He is a real little charmer and loves smiling at anyone who catches his eye.
So that's my little family. Please do feel free to get in touch if you'd like to work with us or if you'd just like to say hello I'd love to hear from you.
